Excise impounds 7 vehicle, documents of 160 on token tax default

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has seized the documents of more than 160 vehicles and impounded seven token tax defaulter vehicles during a general hold-up in the city.

Talking to Customs Today, Excise Taxation Officer (ETO) Qurban Shah said that the excise was taking stern action against token tax defaulter and unregistered vehicles in the region. He added that the motor branch would continue its crackdown against defaulters.

For nabbing tax defaulters, special teams were formed which established checkpoints on different roads of the city. Excise seized documents of vehicles from Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Model Town, Multan Road, Raiwind Road, Ravi Road, Faisal Town and Shahdara Toll Plaza.

Earlier, Excise Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal has directed all officials of the regions to enhance their performance and expedite the tax recovery in order to meet the target.
