On verifying, the officer found the registration number pasted on the vehicle fake and asked the MPA to provide documents of the vehicle, which he could not. On this, the officer impounded the Land Cruiser until payment of registration fee to the department.

Sources said that the MPA allegedly threatened the officer over detention of his vehicle, but the officer did not release the impounded vehicle.

Obeying the law, the MPA could get his vehicle back after paying the registration fee to the department on the spot.
