Excise issues final notices to 1,800 govt token tax defaulter vehicles in Gujranwala division

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has issued final notices to 1,800 token tax defaulters vehicles of the government in Gujranwala Region.

Sources told Customs Today that 1,800 government vehicles of various federal and provincial departments are token tax defaulters since long.

Sources said the Excise Department sent notices to these departments for payment of taxes but the defaulters failed to clear their pending dues.

Sources said now excise department has issued final notices to all defaulters department in Gujranwala Region asking them to clear pending tax dues within 15 days failing which the defaulters vehicle will be impounded by the excise and taxation department and vehicles will be released after payment of dues.

Sources told that many government vehicles are also plying on roads without payment of token tax and customs duty.
