Lahore: Excise likely to increase rate of computerised number plates

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has decided to increase the rate of computerised number plates in coming days.

The department has moved a summery to the Punjab chief minister to increase the rate of security-featured number plates.

According to the summery, rates of new computerised number plates will be increased to Rs 750. This time, the government is facilitating the citizens with a subsidy of Rs 300 and the total amount excise is receive this time is Rs 450.

Lifetime token tax on motorcycles will also be increased in the future, as proposal in this regard has been included in the moved summery.

After getting approval from Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, lifetime token tax will be increased by Rs 2000.

The Excise Department is facing a huge shortfall in revenue collection, especially under the head of motor vehicle taxes.

After the approval of this summery, the Excise and Taxation will be able to shorten the gap of revenue targets in the coming days.
