Excise makes history by selling No. 11 in Rs0.855m at auction

LAHORE: Excise and Taxation Department Punjab made history in auction of registration numbers for vehicles. Registration number “11” is sold at a price of Rs0.855 million which is all-time high in Excise history.

Hundreds of people were present at auction of numbers of 2015 series at Excise office Fareed Kot. Attractive number “11” became most important when its auction continued for one hour and sold at Rs 0.855 million. A citizen Mian Muhammad Rasheed purchased No 11.

Numbers of other attractive registration numbers were also sold in auction. Number “1” was purchased by Muhammad Shafi in Rs 0.755 million. Mian Shafi is cousin of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Number “7” was sold in Rs 215,000 to Taimoor Haider, No “5” in Rs 200,000 to Chaudary Sugar Mills.  A citizen Nameem Khan purchased No “4” in Rs 115,000 whereas No “3” of new series was sold in Rs 70,000 to Asad Ullah Khan. Muhammad Yonus purchased No “10” in Rs 55,000; No “2” was purchased by Sheikh Noor-ul Din in Rs 30,000.
