Excise Multan collects Rs 23.7 million as profession tax

MULTAN: The Excise and Taxation Department has collected Rs 23.7 million as profession tax from Multan City in the first eight months of the fiscal year 2014-15.

The department has taken steps to collect the professional tax from the Multan City by initiating the registration of property dealers. The department has started an awareness campaigns in the city with the help of the city district government for the registration of property business, while 350 dealers have been registered but there are also numbers of unregistered estate agents. The excise teams are collecting the unregistered property dealer’s data.

E&T Multan has achieved almost 58 percent of the set target for Profession Tax until today.

Department has formed different teams to take action against the unregistered property dealers in the city to cover the revenue gap for the current economic year.

It has announced the Rs 10,000 registration fee and Rs 10,000 annual fee for the estate agents to get register. The department will issue final notices to the professional tax defaulters.
