LAHORE: The motor branch of the Excise and Taxation Department on Tuesday nabbed a vehicle which was owned by Chief Minister of Khyber Pukhtunkhawa.

Sources told Customs Today that the motor branch officials intercepted a vehicle with fake number plate at a checkpoint in Defense Housing Authority Phase-V. The person driving the car introduced himself as driver of KPK chief minister while Pervez Khattak’s son was also sitting beside him in the car, according to the officials.

Sources also told that the vehicle was released later due to intervention of a top KPK bureaucrat who told them that the vehicle was owned by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and that fake number plate was used due to uncertain security situation.

It is also pertinent to mention here that currently Chief Minister Pervez Khattak is not in Lahore.

The Excise has started strict crackdown against defaulters in Lahore and other districts of the province and has seized thousands of vehicles in fake number plates, toke tax default and un-registration.
