LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department collected Rs57.5 million as entertainment duty during first ten months (July-April) of current fiscal year of 2014-15.
The provincial government has imposed the duty tax on films, TV dramas, theatres and musical concerts.
The Punjab government had set a target of Rs84 million in wake of entertainment duty which was later decreased to Rs80 million.
During the first ten months of the fiscal year Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has collected Rs57.5 million which is 72 percent of the target.
It is important to mention here that Punjab government has withdrawn the entertainment duty on small commercial theaters during last month, March and the public appreciated the step of the government in this regard
