Excise recovers Rs 3.4 million token tax from Punjab Police

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has recovered a huge amount of token tax from the Punjab Police after a struggle of 11 months.

According to sources, a letter was written to higher authorities of the Punjab Police, asking them to clear the outstanding dues of token tax. Now, the Punjab Police have paid Rs 3.4 million to the Excise Department in the wake of token tax on official vehicles for the year 2014-15.

On the other hand, during a general holdup in the city, the Excise Motor Branch seized documents of 127 defaulting vehicles. These documents were seized from different areas of Lahore, including Ichhra, Gulberg, Shahdara, Model Town, Faisal Town, Thokar Niaz Baig, Multan Road and Defense. The Excise Motor Branch also impounded seven unregistered vehicles.
