LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has sealed 600 properties in different areas of Lahore and Kasur. The department has also issued notices to thousands of defaulters to pay their outstanding property tax with fine.
The sealed property owners failed to submit their property tax despite issuing many notices. The Excise Department has started to take strict action against these property tax defaulters besides imposing a fine on them.
According to District Excise Officer of Kasur Malik Muhammad Aslam, the owners of the sealed properties were defaulters of millions of rupees but despite sending many notices they failed to pay their dues.
Excise Kasur has seized properties in Kasur city, Kundian, Chunian and Lahore Road including many warehouses, workshops and factories as well.
On other hand in Lahore under the supervision of ETO Malik Saleem excise teams seized properties in different areas of the city including Shadbagh, Allama Iqbal Road, and other nearby areas. Properties sealed in these areas are more than 450 Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal directed all concerned officials of the regions to constitute special teams to check the property tax defaulters.
The teams sealed the properties in different areas of Faisal Town, Ferozepur Road and Raiwind Road.
