Excise seized documents of 230 vehicles during general hold-up

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has seized documents of 230 defaulting vehicles during a crackdown in the city.

According to reliable sources, Excise Director Suhail Arshad has formed eight special teams to take action against defaulters. The Excise Motor Branch set up many checkpoints at different points of the city to keep a check on defaulting vehicles. Director Suhail Arshad is very vigilant in this regard and has strictly directed the officers not to spare any person found involved in default.

During road checking on Monday, the excise teams checked hundreds of vehicles and seized documents of 230 vehicles. Most of the vehicles were token tax defaulters, while the excise also impounded some vehicles.

Documents of the defaulters were seized in the areas of Jail Road, Liberty Roundabout, Ferozepur Road, Multan Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Wapda Town, Defence Housing Authority, Band Road, Shahdara and Sagian Bridge.
