Excise seizes 920kg charas, arrest two suspects in Larkana

LARKANA: Excise and Taxation Police Larkana on Sunday seized about 920 kilograms of Charas from a truck and arrested driver and cleaner and impounded the truck.

According to Excise and Taxation Officer, the staff of Excise Police led by In-charge Divisional Intelligence Officer Qurban Ali Shaikh, on a tipoff, stopped a Karachi-bound truck No C-1339 coming from Quetta, near by-pass on Larkana-Dadu Road, Indus Highway.

On search, the Excise Police found fine quality charas in gunny bags in the truck, weighing 920 kilograms. The Excise Police arrested truck driver Amanullah and cleaner Aameer Shah. Both the accused are the residents of Charsada, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A case has been registered under Anti-Narcotics Act and further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, Minister Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla, appreciating the excise team, has directed them to ensure that no drugs to be transported to Sindh. He expressed his commitment to make Sindh free from the curse of drugs.
