Excise seizes documents of 124 token tax defaulters

LAHORE: The motor branch of the Excise and Taxation Department has seized documents of 124 token tax defaulter vehicles during a special crackdown.

On special directions of Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal, the excise had started special crackdown against token tax defaulters since the start of the year but with the start of April, the noose has been tightened around the neck of the tax defaulters, officials said.

The motor branch director has formed ten special teams for the recovery of token tax from defaulters especially in posh areas of the city including Gulberg, DHA, Johar Town, Wapda Town, Bahria Town, and Raiwind Road, while Excise and Taxation Officer Qurban Ali Shah is supervising the crackdown.

Excise teams established checkpoints in above said areas on first two days of the running week and seized documents of 124 vehicles on token tax default.
