Excise seizes documents of 230 vehicles during checking

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation department has seized documents of 230 defaulter vehicles during a crackdown in the City.

According to Excise officials Director Suhail Arshad has formed eight special teams to take action against defaulters. Excise Motor Branch formed many check-points at different places of the city to keep a check on defaulter vehicles. Director Motor Branch Suhail Arshad is very vigilant in this regard and has strictly directed the officers not to spare any person who found to be a defaulter.

During Directors Conference Secretary Ali Tahir has directed the officers to overcome the revenue shortfall as only two months are left in this fiscal year but targets are not seems to be recovered.

In road checking which begin from Monday to Wednesday Excise teams checked hundreds of vehicles and seized documents of 230 vehicles. Most of the vehicles were found token tax defaulters.

Documents of the defaulters were seized at Jail Road, Liberty Chowk, Gullberg Ferozepur Road, Multan Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Wapda Town, Defense Housing Authority, Shahdra and Sagian Bridge.
