Excise seizes documents of 650 token tax defaulter vehicles in a week

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Motor Branch Lahore seized documents of 650 token tax defaulter vehicles in one week during general holdup and also impound a non-duty paid vehicle.

As per detail, a vehicle was also impounded by the excise authorities when it was brought to excise office for registration on not paying the duty tax. Later vehicle was handed over to customs authorities.

Motor Branch Director Suhail Arshad said that department was active against token tax defaulter vehicles. During one week in general holdup, special teams of excise seized documents of 650 unregistered and tax defaulter vehicles, he added. Millions of rupees would be recovered from the defaulters, he said.

Excise seized documents at different check posts near Defense More, Ghazi Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Model Town, Multan Road, Raiwand Road, Ravi Road, Faisal Town, Ghazi Chowk and Shahdara Toll Plaza.
