KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation Department has received positive response of property survey. The survey was conducted three months ago.
Property Tax Department Incharge Yaseen Jatoi told Customs Today that during the survey 800 notices were issued to property tax defaulters while authorities imposed fine on some defaulters on the spot. He said that some property tax defaulters were allowed time to clear their pending dues.
He said that out of the 800 tax defaulters, 450 tax defaulters already cleared their pending dues. He said that during the month of March, Rs 5.578 million were collected from these defaulters. He said that excise will generate more revenue as compared to collection of March. He said in the last week of April more tax defaulters will clear their pending tax dues in response to notice issued to them by excise department.
