Expo Pakistan 2015 from Feb 26: B2B session of 3rd Pak-Japan Business Forum in Tokyo to boost trade ties

SLAMABAD: A 13-member delegation from Pakistan, representing the leading manufacturers-cum-exporters of textiles, leather, pharmaceutical, engineering and shipping sectors, has participated in a business interactive (B2B) networking session of 3rd Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF) in the embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo for enhancing bilateral trade between the two countries.

According to a message received from Tokyo, the embassy had made extensive arrangements for the meetings of the delegates with their Japanese counterparts. The meetings with Japanese large entrepreneurs and retail chain stores were organised in order to pursue the drive to enhance bilateral trade and investment between Pakistan and Japan through direct private sector engagement. During the meetings the entrepreneurs from both the sides met and learnt about the potential business opportunities. Notable interest was found amongst local business community.

Ambassador Farukh Amil in his welcome speech urged the Japanese companies to keep up the momentum created by their active participation in EXPO 2013. He said that Pakistan offered immense opportunities for business and investment. The ambassador stressed that the Pakistani community in Japan could play a galvanizing role for the promotion of Pakistan-Japan business due to its presence across Japan, its deep experience and knowledge of the Japanese language and business skills.

He invited the Japanese entrepreneurs to be the part of business mission for Expo Pakistan 2015 scheduled for February 26, 2015 in Karachi. Commercial counsellors oversaw all the arrangements of the ‘Business Match Event’. On the side lines of the B2B session, he highlighted that the opportunities were there but guided by the embassy of Pakistan, businessmen could find their perfect match.

He underlined that the vast majority in the networking session was introducing brand new potential partners to each other, thereby creating the possibility of new openings, it said.
