Export consignments held with fake exemption documents

KARACHI: Pakistan Customs has seized consignments of export goods with fake exemption documents at a green channel facility according to a press release.

Model Customs Collectorate of Exports has revealed that it had received information regarding unscrupulous elements trying to export goods against fake export documents. On this information, the Export Intelligence Branch mounted vigilance on all outgoing suspected consignments and intercepted five containers being shipped by Creative Leather Industry Karachi to UAE.

The documents of consignments were found false on verification from the concerned bank. The authority confiscated the shipment. The worth of consignments has been estimated at $117,546 equal to Rs 12.6 million, according to the press release. The release said that an FIR had also been lodged with the court of special judge. Previous consignments exported by the firm are also being investigated.
