KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has granted post-arrest bail to three more suspects in five cases pertaining to the export of gold worth billions of rupees on fake E-forms.
A single bench of the SHC approved the bail for Muhammad Shahid, Humayun Hanif and Hanif Musa with surety of Rs 100,000 in each case. Three suspects moved the high court seeking their release after the trial court dismissed their bail.
Earlier, the SHC had admitted the bail pleas of suspect Kashan Iqbal, Sajid Abdul Qadir and Syed Abdul Qawi. However, the customs court had granted bail to accused Syed Tahir Hussain and Kamran Siddiqui.
Wajahat Minhas, Muhammad Zubair, Hanif Musa, Humayun Hanif, Muhammad Shahid, and Irfan are behind bars. Muhammad Tahir, Bilal and Aqeel are still at large.
According to the prosecution, the customs authorities had registered five cases against exporters, including Saani Impex, BD Enterprises, Rubab Corporation, Makkah Enterprises and M/s Reaz Corporation for exporting gold worth billions of rupees on fake E-forms, causing huge losses to the national exchequer.
