KARACHI: The exporters at the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Landhi have demanded the government to resolve their problems.

An exporter told Customs Today that the government should curtail load shedding which is badly affecting their business. He also said that they have to wait long time for the clearance of their consignments.

He said that the businessmen are doing their best to strengthen national economy as imports and exports of any country are the backbone of the economy. An Examiner, Mohammad Saleh, who is deployed at the Export Processing Zone, said that it is his duty to thoroughly examine any consignment. On the other hand, the exporters blamed the examiner for using ‘delaying tactics’ in the name of examination.

However, Saleh said that “after thorough examination we always prefer to clear the consignments without wasting time. But use of word delaying tactics is not justified from exporters’ end,” he said.
