SIALKOT: The exporters of Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat are facing hardships due to strike of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) employees as air freight operations are suspended at airports.
The consignments, which were booked for the PIA, are piling up at airports causing loss not only to exporters but also to the national kitty, an exporter shared his views.
A customs official said that the Pakistan Customs collects duty/taxes on the import and export oriented consignments and now meagre revenue is being collected due to the halted cargo operations by the flag carrier.
The exporters have demanded the government sort out the on a priority basis in order to save the national economy.
