KARACHI: The Special Recovery Cell (SRC) of MCC-Exports has recovered overdue Rs 610,000 along with surcharge Rs 263,000 through a notice issued to exporter Ahsan Raza under Section 48(I) (CA) of Sales Tax Act 1990 for attachment of bank account, it is learnt.

According to details, the PaCCS Collectorate in the year 2008 had mistakenly refunded a rebate claim of Rs 610,000 instead of Rs 100,000 to the exporter.

The exporter, however, did not respond to the PaCCS Collectorate.

Later, the PaCCS Collectorate now, the Appraisement-East sent the outstanding rebate claim to the MCC-Exports.

After getting information from the Appraisement-East, Exports Collectorate Collector Manzoor Hussain Memon deputed Deputy Collector Mona Iffat Baloch and Principal Appraiser (Recovery) Amin Farooqui for recovering the overdue amount.

The SRC while following the directives of Collector-MCC Exports has contacted NADRA in order to freeze the bank account of M/s Ahsan Raza.

The SRC froze the bank account of Ahsan Raza and recovered Rs 610,000 and Rs 263,000 surcharge.

The recovery was made possible due to the effective and positive efforts of SRC under the supervision of Collector Manzoor Memon.
