Exports of Amman chamber of industry rise by JD57m in 2 months

AMMAN: Exports by factories and industrial enterprises registered with the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI), rose by JD57 million in the first two months of 2018 compared to the same period of 2017, according to a statistical report on Tuesday.

The chamber’s exports in the first two months of this year stood at JD703 million, compared to JD646 million in the same period of last year, the report said.

Most of these exports went to India, with JD114 million, followed by the United States at JD80 million, Iraq JD76 million, Palestine JD75 million, Saudi Arabia JD65 and Syria JD56 million.

Exports of mining industries stood at JD200 million, chemical and cosmetics JD115 million, while food, agricultural and livestock reached JD71 million. Exports of leather and knitwear industries stood JD69 million, medical and pharmaceutical supplies JD67 million, and electricity engineering and information technology at JD56 million.
