KIEV: Foreign trade with agricultural products and food in 2017 reached $22.6 billion, including over $17.9 billion of exports (16.3% up on 2016), the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine has reported. In 2017, exports of Ukrainian agricultural products and food showed positive results, reaching over $17.9 billion. Last year the figure was $15.5 billion. Today, the share of exports of total trade with agricultural products and food is 79.4%,” the ministry said, citing Deputy Agricultural Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine for European integration Olha Trofimtseva.She said that exports of crops rose by $2.1 billion, totaling $16.7 billion. Supplies of livestock products in money terms rose by $371.4 million, accounting for almost $1.3 billion.Trofimtseva said that the share of grain crops is 36.2%, for vegetable oil – 25.1% and oilseeds 11.3%.Growth of Ukrainian exports is linked to the increase of supplies of processed products and food. This concerns exports of butter that rose by $92.2 million compared with 2016, sugar by $49.7 million, malt extracts, products from flour and cereals by $48.8 million, fresh or cooled peas by $44.3 million, frozen beef by $39.2 million,” she said.
