LISBON: Portugal had the fifth largest trade gap in the European Union (EU) in the first quarter of the year, about €2 billion, Eurostat said on Tuesday.
Portugal’s international trade deficit between January and March was the result of €14.1 billion in imports offset against €12.2 billion in exports.
This result is lower than a year ago since exports went up four percent and imports dropped one percent, compared with the first quarter of 2014.
