FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication settled 21 seizure cases after adjudicating involving Rs 47.014 million during the month of December 2019.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanju decided as many as 12 seizure cases forwarded by Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation in their various anti-smuggling activities. These cases were related to evasion of customs duty to the tune of Rs7.187 million during December. These seizure cases included foreign origin cloth vehicles tyres, auto parts and miscellaneous goods.
Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Sumera Omar decided 4 seizure cases of smuggled vehicles and others different brand items worth Rs 7.253 million during December.
Furthermore, Collector Akhtar Hussain decided only 5 seizure cases of Rs 32.574 million available for hearing in the Collectorate. Due to recent reshuffling in the Customs Collectorate hearing of seizure cases facing unnecessary delays in the Customs Adjudication.
