Faisalabad adjudication decides 80 cases of Rs328.038million during October

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Faisalabad Camp Office disposed of 80 various seizure cases involving Rs328.038million during the month of October 2017.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed decided about 49 seizure cases forwarded by the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation in their various anti-smuggling activities. These cases were related to evasion of customs duty of Rs24.082million during October.

These seizure cases included smuggling of foreign origin cloths, vehicles, tyres, auto-parts and miscellaneous goods.

Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Saeed Asad decided 14 seizure cases of smuggled vehicles and other of different brand items worth Rs23.106million during October.

Moreover, Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig, who has been recently transferred from Faisalabad to PCA Lahore, decided 17 seizure cases of Rs280.850million available for hearing in the collectorate. Due to recent reshufflings in the customs collectorate, hearings of seizure cases are facing unnecessary delay in the customs adjudication.
