Faisalabad Adjudication declares ceramic tiles confiscation lawful

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Saima Aftab has declared the confiscation of ceramic tiles cartons Satrap Brand and Masood Brand made in Iran and China as lawful and issued order in original in favour of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad.

As per details, the Customs Intelligence Faisalabad seized ceramic tiles during a  raid at a godown of M/s Modern Tiles House situated near Fatimah jinnah Road Sargodha. The godown is owned by Muhammad Naeem son of Muhammad Bashir, a resident Qadir Bukhsh Colony Sargodha.

The Customs team asked the accused to produced documents showing legal import of ceramics tiles, but he could not produce the same.

Therefore, the official impounded the ceramics tiles under section 16 and 18 of the customs act 1969 and 3(1) and 3(3) of the import and export control act 1950 punishable under section 156(1)90 of customs act 1969.

LaterSenior intelligence officer Muhammad Tahir Iqbal and Faizi Raza inspector appeared from customs side and reiterated the charges framed against the respondents. Asim Bashir authorised representative appeared from M/S Godown. Who have imported these tiles. He also produced the copies of GDs sales tax invoice and retuns data. The intelligence officer verified only one transaction relating to sales tax invoices issused by Qaiser Riaz proprietor of M/S Hussain Traders Lahore.
