Faisalabad Adjudication issues notice to accused involved in smuggling

FAISALABAD: The Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Abbas Khan has issued a show cause notice to the owner of smuggled foreign origin Isuzu prime mover truck.

Sources told Customs Today, that Customs Intelligence Field Investigation Unit (FIU ) Sargodha has impounded smuggled Isuzu pre mover truck bearing registration no: TLA-041 (Sibi) near Mianwali Toll Plaza M.M Road Mianwali. On query driver of the vehicle failed to produce any legal documents regarding import of truck in country.

The Field Investigation Unit brought the Hino truck to Faisalabad Dry Port for proper verification. The owner of the vehicle produced different GDs in respect of truck. The produced documents were scrutinized and were not found tallied in respect of vehicle.

Therefore, FIU Sargodha forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication department.  Now Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Abbas Khan has issued show cause notice to owner of the truck Muhammad Younas. The authority also directed if the owner fails to provide evidence the case will be decided on the basis of evidence available on demand.
