FAISALABAD: The Customs Collectorate Fasialabad Air Freight Unit (AFU) team recovered eight bottles of foreign origin liqour worth Rs 40,000.
Sources told Customs Today that Superintendent AFU Traffic Naeemur Rehman has formed special team under the supervision of Assistant Collector Muhammad Idrees Qureshi comprising Amjad Iqbal Cheema, Ghulam Murtaza Anjum, Muhammad Khalil (inspector) and Ghulam Ghous, Abdul Sattar (sepoys).
The AFU team recovered eight bottle of foreign origin liquor from the possession of a passenger namely Muhammad Majid who is a resident of Faisalabad. Sources said that the passenger had arrived from Bahrain carrying a hand bag. The bag was doubtful upon which AFU team member asked the passenger to open the same in the presence of two witnesses which led to the recovery of foreign origin liquor bottles.
The authorities have seized the liquor under the law contravention section 15 and 16 of the Customs Act 1969 and submitted a report to the Customs Adjudication. Sources said that it is clear that the seizes liqour is prohibited one and brought into country illegally.
