Faisalabad Appraisement faces shortfall of Rs123.318m during April

FAISALABAD: The Customs Collectorate Appraisement Branch collected Rs811.352 million during the month of April 2018 against the set target of Rs934.67 million, recording a shortfall of Rs123.318 million.

The Customs Appraisement collected the revenue under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty (FED) during the above-said period.

The Collectorate generated customs duty of Rs 283.29 million against the set target of Rs233.698 million. The Collectorate recovered a sales tax of Rs567.965 million against the allocated target of Rs643.45 million.

The Customs Appraisement generated Rs 9.688 million under the head of income tax during the above-said duration against the earmarked target of Rs7.93 million.

Customs Appraisement Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig said the Customs Department has issued notices to a number of tax defaulters in the recent months asking them to clear their outstanding tax dues at the earliest to avoid stern action.
