Faisalabad ASO confiscates 1320Kg non-duty paid fabrics

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate, Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad has seized smuggled foreign origin cloths worth Rs992920 involving customs and taxes duty of Rs311100.

Customs sources told Customs Today that in pursuance of information received through Collector Dr Zulifkar Ali Chaudhary, the ASO team raided near Saifabad Jhang Road, Faisalabad and intercepted a Rickshaw loaded with fabrics.

The ASO staff asked the accused person Namely Muhammad waqas son of Abbas Ali Silariyan Residential Tehsil and District Narowal to perdouced any legal documents regarding loaded items he was failed to provide any legally document dacuments.

Therefore, ASO seized the Smuggled cloth under section 16, 18, 157, 168, and 168 of the Customs Act 1969 and Section 3 of Sales Tax Act, 1990, Section 148 of Income Tax Ordinance 2001 read with Section 3 (1) 3 of Import & Export Control Act 1950, punishable under Section 156(1)90 of the Customs Act 1969 read with SRO 499(I)/2009 dated 13.06.2009 after completion of all the legal formalities.

ASO team comprising on Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Mahmood ahmad Dogar, Khalid Ashraf Noor, Ali Zahid, and sepoys Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Khalid Dogar, Liaqat Ali and others conducted the operation against smuggler.
