Faisalabad ASO confiscates contraband goods, vehicles worth Rs 30m in June

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Faisalabad, seized smuggled contraband goods worth Rs 30 million during June of the fiscal year 2015-16.

According to monthly seizure report, the main seized items include non-duty paid vehicles, foreign origin cloth, auto spare parts and others miscellaneous items. The Faisalabad ASO registered more than 16 seizure cases during anti-smuggling activities in June.

Talking with Customs Today Deputy Colletor Muhammad Rizwan Khan said that numbers of cases are declining  day by day due to strict monitoring and timely actions of ASO teams.

The impounded 10 non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 98,60,000 and three vehicles  which were being used for transportation of smuggled items, worth Rs 600,0000 during the said period.

He said that FBR strictly instructed to all customs collectorate to adopt zero tolerane policy against those who found involved in smuggling. He said after receiving these instructions customs collectorates speed up their efforts to curb smuggling activities.
