Faisalabad ASO confiscates items worth Rs 2.5m in two weeks

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate’s Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized smuggled goods worth Rs 2.592 million during first two weeks of November 2015.

Talking to Customs Today, Deputy Collector Muhammad Falik Shair said that department has showed good performance, adding that smuggling at any level will not be tolerated in the region. He said that department was striving to plug the loophole in order to curb the smuggling and to save the national economy.

The Faisalabad ASO impounded a truck worth Rs 1.2 million, which was being used for the transportation of the smuggled items, besides confiscating 840 kilogram of smuggled cloth worth Rs 388,080. The ASO team also seized miscellaneous goods worth Rs 1.004 million.

The teams conducted various operations in the region in order to eliminate the smuggling.
