Faisalabad ASO confiscates items worth Rs 886,000 in 2 weeks

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized smuggled items worth Rs 886,000 and registered two cases of smuggling during the first two weeks of April, 2016.

According to the details, Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan conducted raids against the smugglers and non-duty paid vehicles in the regions and impounded a vehicle worth Rs 550,000. The officials impounded the vehicle after the driver failed to show the documents regarding the legal import of the vehicle.

The ASO also confiscated 6,000 kilogram of miscellaneous items worth Rs 336,000 during the said period. The officials seized the items under prevailing customs laws and registered cases against the culprits. The cases have also been sent to the adjudication for further legal action.
