Faisalabad ASO seizes metal cut off saw discs on smuggling charges

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation Faisalabad has confiscated smuggled metal cut off saw discs of various brands worth Rs 1.18 million.

As per details, ASO team acting on tip-off conveyed through Collector Tauseef Ahmed Qureshi intercepted a mini truck bearing Registration No. LES-08-6066 near Lal Mil’s Chowk in Faisalabad and recovered old and used metal cut off saw discs.

The ASO staff asked the driver to produce any documentary evidence showing the legal import and lawful possession of loaded items, but he could not produce any documents relating to its legal import or lawful possession on which customs confiscated the recovered items. The officials also impounded the mini truck worth Rs 500,000.

The detecting staff including Superintendent Zahid Raza Bukhari, Inspector Safdar Ali, Munir Ahmad, Muhammad Anwar and other conducted the raid.
