FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded foreign origin used Toyota Crown car worth Rs 5 million.
Sources told Customs Today that Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig received information about non-duty paid vehicles. During the checking of vehicles, the ASO team intercepted a Toyota Crown car without registration number model 2011 in white colour near Sargodha Road Faisalabad.
The ASO staff asked the driver namely Shaban Ali to produce any documents showing the legal import and lawful possession but he failed to do so. During the investigation, it revealed the said vehicle brought into the country without payment of customs duty and taxes through an unauthorized route.
Therefore the said vehicle was taken into the customs possession under Section 187 of the Customs Act 1969 and recovery memo was prepared in the presence of two witnesses.
