Faisalabad ASO impounds non-duty-paid Toyota Land Cruiser

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization impounded foreign origin Toyota Land Cruiser worth Rs2.5 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig received information about some non-duty paid vehicles. During the checking of vehicles, the ASO team intercepted a Toyota Land Cruiser model 2013 in black colour.

Sources said the above vehicle has been detained by the police station Thikriwala Jhang Road. The customs staff visited the police station and asked the SHO police station but he refused to do so. Therefore superintendent filed petition before the special judge customs taxation and anti-smuggling under Section 185-A of the Customs Act 1969.

During the investigation, it revealed the said vehicle brought into the country without payment of customs duty and taxes through an unauthorized route.

Therefore the said vehicle was taken into the customs possession and notice under Section 187 of the Customs Act 1969 and recovery memo was prepared in the presence of two witnesses.
