Faisalabad ASO impounded non-duty paid vehicle worth Rs 627,000

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded foreign origin used Honda City car worth Rs 627,000 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 327,000.

Collector Zulifkar Ali Chaudhary received information about the smuggling of the said car. During the checking of vehicles, the ASO team intercepted a Honda Car bearing registration no. LKR-4246 (Lahore), model 2003 in white colour near Sargodha Road, Faisalabad.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO staff asked the drive namely Rana Sanullah residential Taj colony Sargodha Road Faisalabad to produce any documents showing the legal import and lawful possession but he remained failed. During the investigation it revealed the said vehicle brought into the country without payment of customs duty and taxes through an unauthorized Route.

Therefore, the said vehicle was taken into the custom possession and notice under section 187 of the customs act 1969 and recovery memo was prepared in the presence of two witnesses.
