Faisalabad ASO impounds NDP Hino truck during checking

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has successfully impounded illegally imported foreign origin used Hino truck worth Rs 4.5 million involving duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 1.6 million.

According to details ASO authorities received credible information regarding smuggling of Hino truck. Soon after receiving the information authorities concerned of ASO constituted a raiding party comprising Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi, Inspector Hafiz Muhammad Waqas, Shah Nawaz, Farhan Frank and Sepoy Zulifqar Ali Wahla, Abdul Sattar and Muhammad Yasin.

The raiding party intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration no: OKS-17-418 model 1997 near Lahore Gojra Road. The raiding party asked the owner Rana Shahbaz to produce documents regarding legal import of vehicle but he remained failed to produce the documents. Upon his failure the raiding party seized the vehicle. Further proceedings are still under progress till the filing of this report. The ASO forwarded the case to customs adjudication for further legal action.
