Faisalabad ASO impounds non-duty paid Honda car worth Rs 700000

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a Honda Accord car worth Rs700000 during a routine road checking involving customs duty and taxes valued Rs390000.

Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary received a tip-off that some non-duty paid vehicles are plying on roads. He formed a special ASO team to check these vehicles. An ASO team intercepted a Honda car with registration No: LZS-380, model 1996, in golden colour near Dhudiwala, Jaranwala Road, Faisalabad.

The ASO team, comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Khalid Mehmood Dogar, Ali Zahid, Khalid Ashraf Noor and Sepoyes Muhammad Khalid Dogar, Afzaal Hussain, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Yasin and Muhammad Naeem, asked about the owner of vehicle namely Kashif Hussain son of Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Dhudhiwala, Faisalabad, to produce any evidence regarding the legal import of vehicle but he failed to prove anything.

The ASO team impounded the vehicle and submitted a report to the Adjudication Department for further proceedings.
