Faisalabad ASO impounds non duty paid Honda car worth Rs1m

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a Honda car worth Rs 100,0000 during a routine road checking involving customs duty and taxes worth Rs52,3960 in Faisalabad city.

According to sources, Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary received secret information that some non-duty paid vehicles are plying on the roads. He formed a special ASO team to check these vhicles. The ASO team intercepted a Honda car bearing registration no. MLC- 6767 model 2004 in the jurisdiction of Faisalabad.

The ASO team comprising Superintenden Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Masood Saeed Chohan, Inspector Abdul Jabbar, Sepoy Khalid Dogar, Sepoy Zulfiqar Ali Awan and Sepoy Israr Ahmad .

The ASO team asked the owner of vehicle who was identified as Azhar Rasheed to produce any evidence regarding legal import of vehicle, but he failed to show any legal document.  After his failure ASO team seized the smuggled vehicle and submitted a report in the Adjudication Department for further proceedings.
