Faisalabad ASO impounds non-duty paid Toyota Hilux

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha impounded a non-duty paid vehicle, Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs 1.2 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 879,957.

As per details, ASO team following credible information received through Assistant Collector Umer Bin Zafer Chattha, intercepted Toyota Hiluz Surf bearing Registration No. LXM-0001 near Khushab.

The ASO staff Sargodha asked the driver namely Muhammad Hussain resident of Misran Tehsil to produce any documentary evidence showing the legal import and lawful possession of the said vehicle. But the driver remained fail to comply with the instructions on which ASO took the vehicle into its custody and served notice upon the accused.

After a considerable passage of time no one appeared before the seizing agency to claim the ownership of seized vehicle. However, ASO impound the vehicle after making contravention report.

ASO team comprising Inspector Bashir Ahmed, Muhammad Mansha, Ansir Saleemi, Rana Muhammad Ashrif and others participated in raid.
