Faisalabad ASO impounds non-duty paid Toyota Vitz car

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Vitz car worth Rs 900,000 involving customs duty amounting to Rs 468,216.

Sources told that Faisalabad Customs Deputy Collector Rizwan Ali Khan received information about a non-duty vehicle. He formed a team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joyia, Inspector Masood Saeed Chohan, Khalid Ashraf Noor, Safdar Iqbal, Sepoy Liaqat Ali, Muhammad Naeem and Muhammad Javed to impound the customs duty defaulter vehicles.

The ASO team intercepted Toyota Vitz bearing Registration No APU-723 near Bawa Chack, Sargodha Road and asked the owner of the vehicle named Shamsullah Khan to produce documents regarding the customs clearance but he failed to provide any relevant document.

Therefore, the ASO team took the vehicle into its customs and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal process.
