Faisalabad ASO impounds smuggled Toyota Land Cruiser

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad has impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser worth Rs 1 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 341,760 in Jhang City.

As per details, ASO team under the supervision of Superintendent Zahid Raza Bukhar comprising Inspector Shaukat Khan, Mujahid Abbas, Ghulam Abbas and others conducted operation to hold the non-duty paid vehicles.

The ASO team intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No. JAF-538 near Shorkot Chowk, Faisalabad and asked the owner namely Zafar Iqbal to produce the documents regarding the legal import and possession of the vehicle. But he could not produce any documents.

Keeping in view of the above circumstance, officials believed that the said Toyota Land Cruiser, is smuggled one and liable to confiscation under the prevailing customs law. The seizure report along with its enclosure has been submitted to adjudication.
