Faisalabad ASO seizes 321 cartons of smuggled black tea

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation Faisalabad has seized smuggled black tea worth Rs 2.19 million

As per details, ASO team following the instruction of Collector Tauseef Ahmad Qureshi conducted operation to fail the smuggling bid.

Under the supervision of Deputy Collector Rana Irfan Shoukat, ASO team comprising Superintendent Safder Iqbal, Inspector Mehmood Ahmad, Inspector Amir Mumtaz Bajwa, Inspector Tanveer-ul-Haq and others intercepted the mini truck bearing registration SA-127.

While searching the truck, team recovered 321 cartons of black tea of ‘deer’ brand weighing 3,650 kg worth Rs 2.19 million including duty/taxes amounting to Rs 417,366.

The ASO staff asked to produce any documentary evidence showing the legal import and lawful possession of the branded black tea. But he could not produce any documents relating to its legal import or lawful possession on which customs seized the black tea.
