Faisalabad ASO seizes art silk cloth during crackdown

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized imported art silk dyed printed cloth containing net weight 600 kilograms worth Rs1.76 million.

Sources told Customs Today, that the cloth was being transported from Lahore to Faisalabad through Toyotta Corolla car bearing registration no: PP-45. ASO team intercepted smuggled cloth near Lal Mill Chowk Tota Cloth Market.

ASO official asked the accused Fazal Mohammad to produce legal documentary evidence of the said cloth but the accused failed to produce any documents relating to its legal import.

Art silk cloth has been seized under the relevant provision of the Import and Export (Control) Act 1950 Section 156 (1) 89(i) of the Customs Act 1969.

ASO detecting staff consisting of Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi, Inspector Faran Frank, Hafiz Muhammad Waqas and Sepoys Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Yaseen, Liaqat Ali. The seizure report alongwith enclosure were sent to the customs adjudication department for further legal action.\
