Faisalabad ASO seizes goods worth Rs6.59m in third week of January

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization seized miscellaneous goods worth Rs6.59 million in different operations during third week of January of FY216-17.

Sources told Customs Today that under the supervision of Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan the ASO team conducted various raids against the smugglers to curb the illegal business.

The ASO team participated in these seizure operations consisted of Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Khalid Ashraf Noor, Inspector Ali Zahid, Inspector Khalid Mehmood Dogar, Sepoys Muhammad Ashraf, Liaqat Ali, Israr Ahmad and Muhammad Abdullah.

The ASO team impounded two offending vehicles worth Rs2 million, tyres and tubes worth Rs0.32 million, auto spare parts worth Rs7,5000 and others miscellaneous items (weighing up to 38297 kilogram) worth Rs 4.19 million.

The ASO seized items with section contravened of Import and Export Control Act-1950 punishable under Section 156(i) 89(i) and 90 of the Custom Act-1969 and forwarded the cases to the Customs Adjudication further proceeding.
