Faisalabad ASO seizes NDP generator near Jhang Road

FAISALABAD: The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized a non duty paid 400-KVA foreign origin generator. The market value of the seized generator is Rs 6,000,000 involving duty taxes Rs22,00,000  besides confiscated Carrier vehicle to the tune of Rs, 2,000,000.

Sources told Customs Today, that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan received secret information that a generator is being transported from Karachi to Faisalabad through Mazda truck bearing registration No JX-6031 without payment of duty and taxes.

He immediately formed a ASO team comprising Tanveer Raza Naqvi (Superintendent), Faizi Raza, Waqas Ali (inspectors), and Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Naeem, Liaqat Ali, Zulifqar Ali (sepoys).

The ASO team intercepted the truck and near Pansara Jhang Road Faisalabad asked driver who was identified as Umar Aziz to produce legal documents regarding possession of generator but they failed to provide any relevant documents. ASO team seized the generator, Vehicle and forwarded the case to customs adjudication for further proceedings.
