Faisalabad ASO seizes non-customs paid Mitsubishi Pajero

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has confiscated non-customs paid Mitsubishi Pajero bearing registration No KTA- 5521 as per fake registration book. The estimated value of the smuggled vehicle is Rs 0.6 million involving Rs 0.22 million customs duty.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO received credible information through the Collector Customs Collectorate Ch Zulafiqar Ali that a vehicle would be smuggled without payment of duty and taxes.

Following the information, the ASO team comprised of Muhammad Javed Mehmood (Superintendent), Sardar Muhammad (Deputy Superintendent), Munir Ahmad, Shoukat Khan (Inspector) and Ghulam Sarwar (sepoy) established a check point near Bhakkar road Faisalabad.

The ASO team intercepted the above mentioned vehicle and asked the owner namely Muhammad Arshad Iqbal to produce any evidence regarding its legal import and lawful possession, but he failed to show any relevant documents.

The ASO team seized the vehicle and registered a case against the accused. Further investigation process is under way in adjudication department.
